Usually, when you purchase something at Walgreen's that gives back a RR (register reward), you cannot roll that RR onto the next transaction of the same purchase -- you will not get the RR on the second purchase.
Today, for some reason, that is not the case. I feel like I just hit the diaper lottery. haha.
Here is how it works out:
Transaction #1
Buy 1 jumbo-size package of Huggies (I have tons of Huggies Little Movers $2/1 Qs from Safeway January coupon books) for $8.99
Use $1/1 from activity book (follow the link to see a picture and description).
Use $2/1 PRINTABLE
There are all sorts of other Huggies $2/1 coupons floating around out there.
OOP: $5.99, get back $3 RR (FINAL COST: $2.99)
Transaction #2
Buy 1 package of Huggies for $8.99
Buy (3) 3 Musketeer Truffles Bars for $1.50 with in-ad Mars Q. (just a suggestion)** -- you need a filler.
Use $1/1 from activity book
Use $2/1 PRINTABLE
Use $3 RR from first transaction.
...$4.50, Get back $3 RR and $1 RR for candy bars
Transaction #3-???
Buy 1 package of Huggies for $8.99
Buy (1) 3 Musketeer Truffles Bars for $.49 with in-ad Mars Q**
Use $1/1 from activity book
Use $2/1 PRINTABLE
Use $3 RR and $1 RR from transaction #2.
...$2.48, Get back $3 RR (Since you are using the $1 RR from the candy bars on this transaction, you will not see another RR print -- well, you shouldn't. haha)
Final cost for 3 packages of Huggies and 4 candy bars -- $9.97 (after RR and coupons)!!! This equates to $2.50/pack of diapers and 4 FREE candy bars. WOO HOO!!
If you don't want the RR from the candy bars -- you can just get one for $.49 (though, after RR, the end price is the same)! Remember, the cashiers get a kickback from these...(an added bonus)
**You will need a filler for the RR. I got TONS of those 3 Musketeer Truffle bars.**
